Terms of use

The rules for using Bluvo, how Bluvo Pro works, and what the app can and cannot promise about pool chemicals.

The app license

Bluvo: Pool & Spa Chemistry (“Bluvo”) is made by Narek Sumbatyan. Your use of Bluvo is governed by Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement together with these terms. Where they differ, these terms add to the Apple agreement for the topics below.

Bluvo is guidance, not a guarantee

Bluvo calculates suggested chemical doses from the numbers you enter: your test results, the volume of your pool or hot tub, and the strength of your chemicals. The results are only as accurate as those numbers, and test kits vary in accuracy.

  • Always read and follow the label and safety instructions of every product you use. The label wins over the app.
  • Add chemicals to water, never water to chemicals. Add one chemical at a time and never mix chemicals together.
  • Keep acid and chlorine at least 30 minutes apart, and never store cal-hypo and trichlor together.
  • Wear gloves and eye protection, keep chemicals away from children and pets, and retest before swimming or soaking.
  • Follow the rules of your local authority, and ask a pool professional when you are unsure, when equipment is involved, or for public and commercial pools.

Bluvo is not professional, medical or safety advice. To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for damage to people, pools, equipment or property that results from using chemicals, including doses suggested by the app.

Bluvo Pro

The treatment plan, the volume calculator, wait timers and the Fix a problem guides are free. Bluvo Pro unlocks unlimited history and charts, test reminders, more pools and hot tubs, custom target ranges and CSV export. Pro is offered as:

  • Yearly subscription, $29.99 per year in the US, with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers.
  • Monthly subscription, $3.99 per month in the US.
  • Lifetime, a one-time purchase of $59.99 in the US, with no subscription.

Prices in other countries are shown in the App Store in local currency and may include taxes.

How subscriptions renew

  • Payment is charged to your Apple account when you confirm the purchase, or when the free trial ends.
  • A subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
  • You can manage or cancel a subscription in your iPhone’s Settings: tap your name, then Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Pro stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
  • If you buy a subscription during the free trial, any unused part of the trial ends.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. You can ask for one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Use Restore purchases in the app to get Pro back on a new iPhone signed in to the same Apple account.

Your data

Your pools, tests and settings are stored on your iPhone, and you are responsible for keeping backups of your device. How we handle data is described in the privacy policy.

Fair use

Don’t copy, resell or reverse-engineer the app, and don’t use it in any unlawful way. The Bluvo name, icon and app design belong to us. The target levels Bluvo uses are based on TroubleFreePool’s published method; Bluvo is not affiliated with TroubleFreePool or any chemical brand.

Changes

We may update the app and these terms. If the terms change, the new version will be posted here with a new date. Continuing to use Bluvo after a change means you accept the updated terms.
